Chilton County High on Tuesday tried to send its seniors out on a winning note, but it was not to be as the Tigers (16-9) fell to Montevallo, 28-26, 25-20, 25-19.

The CCHS junior varsity team won in the first match of the night, 25-18, 25-18.

Quantisha Streety aced the visiting Bulldogs (14-10) to begin the varsity match, but Montevallo built a 17-10 lead before the Tigers surged.

A Streety block made it 21-all, and a tip by Tylita Harrell fell in to give the hosts a lead – but they couldn’t hold it.

Chilton fell behind early in the next two games and couldn’t catch up.

Clarissa Galvan finished with three kills and an ace, and Harrell contributed two kills and two aces.
