Unless we put Him first, we’ll make the same mistakes again. His gentle heart supplies us with all the things we lack, and when we give our love to Him… He always gives it back.”

Morning Star Baptist Church in Clanton will Celebrate its Annual Mission Day Celebration tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Evangelist Concheta England will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Keith Moore is pastor. All missions and pastors are invited to attend.

Plantersville Grove Baptist Church in Plantersville will celebrate its annual Men and Women’ Day Program tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Corey Morrow, pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Lower Peachtree will be the guest speaker. All churches are invited.

Worship service at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with praise service led by the senior choir with scripture songs, prayer and testimony. The scripture was read by Perry Nunn with prayer by Pastor Dukes and Carl Singleterry. Pastor Dukes gave the morning message with his theme “The Ways of Living.” Our life’s purpose is to glorify God. There are ways to live right or wrong. If you make a mistake, don’t stay in it. The way of a blessed man is this: his desire is for inner satisfaction to get that you must be right with God.

How do you choose the right direction? Don’t walk with wicked folks, including family, friends or church folks. Don’t take advice from sinners. Reject sinners’ lifestyle. A sinner deliberately misses the mark. A saint falls, gets up, dusts himself off and repents and follows Christ. Let your goal be to do what is right. Don’t plan to sin; it’s dangerous. Decline a seat with the scornful; don’t sit down in sin. Sin is never all right. Don’t stick with folks doing wrong.

Don’t believe in what sounds good. Believe in sound doctrine. Don’t try to appease other folks. The devil knows what you like and will put it in front of you, but remember he came to steal, kill and destroy.

True happiness is in the word of God. In order to get in, meditate on God’s way day and night, and study God’s word.
