The first ever Gospel Night at the Chilton County Fair has become a two-night event, coordinator Lloyd Nutter announced.

The singing will begin tonight at 7 with Gene Lowery and The Samaritans, followed by mother-daughter-niece trio Adreane Barrington, Madalyn Barrington and Alex Headley; contemporary band Cool Reign; and finally Steve Roberson.

Nutter, who serves as emcee of the event, welcomes everyone to drop by the fair and enjoy a night of gospel singing.

“The singing is free other than general fair admission,” he said.

Friday night’s singing will kick off at 7 with Percy Scott and the Fishers of Men, Gary McKee, and an unnamed guest from Birmingham.

The Chilton County Fairgrounds are located on Airport Road in Clanton. General admission is $3 per person. Armbands are required to ride rides and are $15 apiece.

Nutter added that attendees may want to bring lawn chairs. For more information, he may be reached at 280-7225.
