Retta Marie Hawes, 92, of Verbena died Saturday, Sept. 20, at her residence.
She was born on Sunday, Oct. 10, 1915 in Autauga County, daughter of the late Edward Goggins and the late Mary Fammie Clark Goggins.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her nine grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Carolyn Hawes, Ellie McGalliard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Mack Hawes; son, Joe Wesley Hawes; son, Harmen Lee Hawes; daughter, Maggie McGalliard.
Friends will be received from 5-8, Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton.
Services will be held Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darryl Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Cemetery, Clanton. Martin Funeral Home directing.
