Thorsby’s Rebels (0-4) were defeated by Fultondale’s Wildcats (3-1) last night, 46-6, in a penalty-riddled game at Susan Bentley Field in Thorsby.

Fultondale was flagged 20 times for 130 yards, and the Rebels were penalized 15 times for 145 yards. Several other penalties on each team were not accepted.

Thorsby’s spark of offense occurred in the second quarter on an Andrew Farris pass to Marcus Bray, who ran 55 yards for the Rebel’s only score.

The Wildcats scored twice in the first quarter and twice in the second quarter to lead the Rebels, 26-7 at the half.

Fultondale scored on their first offensive play of the third quarter on a 75-yard punt return and scored again on a 40-yard run by Jonathan Craig with 5:37 left in the quarter. The Wildcats scored the game’s final touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter on Craig’s six-yard run.

Unofficially, the Rebels booked eight first downs and the Wildcats charted 16. The Rebels claimed four fumbles and the Wildcats recovered two.
