Jemison’s Cameron Elkins was named SouthernLINC Wireless Student Athlete of the Week at the Panthers’ game against Calera on Sept. 12.

Elkins excels at outside linebacker and has a cumulative 3.7 GPA on a 4-point scale.

Also at the game, Ellis Stewart of WHPH-FM (97.7 The Peach) also presented Jemison High School Principal Alan Thompson with a $50 gift card for the school in honor of Elkins’ achievement.

The SouthernLINC Wireless Student Athlete of the Week award program will continue throughout this football season, and the company will award one deserving student athlete during the SouthernLINC Wireless High School Game of the Week for schools around the Clanton listening area. Next Friday night, SouthernLINC Wireless will be at the Calera game as it hosts Bibb County.
