The Thorsby Town Council will pay for fire chief Lee Gunn’s training for Fire Office IV certification.

Along with paying the bill, the council will send the department a memo instructing them to bring all fire school or training classes to the council for approval before they take the classes.

The council also approved a new hire for the fire department and approved a resolution allowing employee’s retirement to be paid in one lump sum per year.

Councilmember Neil Benson also requested that he get another copy of the sign ordinance to check and see if a proposed sign meets the town’s requirements.
