The people at Bethsalem Baptist Church have just one month to live – well, at least, they are being asked to consider that possibility.

The church is inviting the community to join them in studying a popular new resource that is making its way to churches.

“One Month to Live,” written by Kerry Shook, senior pastor of Fellowship of the Woodlands church in Houston, Texas, asks readers what they would change about their lives if they only had 30 days left to live.

“Why don’t we always live like that? Why do we wait until we get this catastrophic news?” asked Pastor Brad Eubank. “If we lived more that way, we could probably make more of an impact in the world and in our families.”

The program also takes a look at Jesus’ last 30 days on Earth, and challenges people to forgive, love, and do the things that are most important.

“It challenges us to look at our priorities,” Eubank said.

Bethsalem is treating the event like a 30-day revival and asks anyone who may be interested to join in. Small group meetings are held at the church at 9:45 a.m., 5 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Sundays.

Anyone who participates will receive a free copy of the book.

The first sessions were held this past Sunday, but Eubank doesn’t want that to dissuade anybody from participating.

“You can join in at any point in the series,” he said.
