Why is the opinion so low?

Dear Editor,

While reading in the Chilton County forum, I was surprised to see how many people write about the local and county law enforcement and how corrupt they are. Furthermore, I was surprised to read that these people have such a low opinion of the court system in our county.

I ask myself why they feel this way. I wish I had an answer to some of their problems but I do not. Are these comments a reflection of our legal system or are they a reflection of our society as a whole. We as a county elect the sherrif and elect the mayors and councils that install police chiefs and their officers.

We elect some of the judges that serve in our courts. I am perplexed as to why, it seems to some, things never change for the good. These people do a thankless job and they should be commended. We as a county should be proud of all our law enforcement people and our courts. Keep up the good work.
