EMA: Buses to transport evacuees to La.

Approximately 200 buses will be used to transport hundreds of hurricane evacuees back to Louisiana.

According to officials with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency located in Clanton, evacuees at several shelters departed at about 6 a.m. Friday.

Its estimated 8,300 Louisiana evacuees are sheltered across the state.

The EMA said in a statement the chartered buses will be escorted by state troopers through Alabama.
