TUSCALOOSA – A Houston television station says quarterback Nic Fanuzzi will transfer from Alabama to Rice.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said earlier this week that Fanuzzi, who was a redshirt last year, will transfer to another school. The station, KRIV, says Fanuzzi’s father told them his son will go to Rice. The elder Fanuzzi played quarterback for Kentucky in the 1970s. His son starred at Churchill High School in San Antonio.

Fanuzzi will have to sit out the 2008 season under NCAA transfer rules.
