TUSCALOOSA – Alabama has three newcomers in line to start Saturday night’s opener against Clemson — including freshman receiver Julio Jones.

Jones, noseguard Terrence Cody and freshman linebacker Don’ta Hightower topped the depth chart coach Nick Saban released Monday.

Jones has been one of the Crimson Tide’s most talked about players since signing with Alabama. Saban said Jones and McCoy have been the two most consistent receivers since camp started. Jones will also return kicks.

Hightower is listed as No. 1 at the will linebacker spot.

Cody, a junior college transfer, beat out redshirt freshman Josh Chapman at noseguard.

Saban also said redshirt freshman quarterback Nic Fanuzzi has decided to transfer.
