Municipal elections set for Tuesday

About two-thirds of the voters in Chilton County will have the chance to vote Tuesday for mayors and councils in each of the municipalities.

Clanton has three mayoral candidates, and all five of its city council wards have at least two people running.

In Jemison, three people are also running for mayor, and three of its five districts have two people running in them.

In Thorsby, three are also running for mayor, and two of its council places have two people vying for the job.

In Maplesville, the only position that will be voted on is mayor because all other council positions only had one person qualify for each district.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
