Hilary Grace Holmes and Matthew Cleveland McKinney were united in marriage on August 2, 2008 at Fairfax First Baptist Church in Valley.

Hilary is the daughter of Ms. Connie Vinson and the Rev. and Mrs. Barry Holmes. The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Paul McKinney of Thorsby.

Matthew is currently pursuing a master’s degree of music technology at Indiana University and Purdue University, and he is employed as a Creative for the Apple store at the Summit in Birmingham, AL. Hilary is a production supervisor for CDC Publishing/Datafax in Montevallo, and she is also pursuing a master’s degree in Secondary Education at the University of Montevallo.

The bride was given away by her father in a lovely afternoon ceremony. She wore an ivory lace and beaded halter gown that was fitted down to the knee and flared towards the bottom with a chapel length train. Her head was adorned with an ivory crystallized scallop edged veil along with a pearl and crystal tiara.

The mother of the bride wore a brown taffeta and satin sleeveless V-neck dress with gentle ruffles from the waist down. Her hair was elegantly accented with pearls.

The bridal attendants wore sleeveless truffle colored dresses with jewelry handmade by the bride. The matron of honor, Mrs. April Pennington, wore a latte colored sleeveless dress with a truffle beaded sash.

A reception was held downstairs at the church with friends and family. The bride and groom intend to honeymoon in Orlando, Fla., in February 2009.
