This is the second consecutive week that an extreme drought has been reported in Chilton County. However, last Tuesday’s rainfall was not calculated into this week’s report because the cutoff for data was last Monday.

There is now 15 percent of the state in an extreme drought, and all but three percent of the state is experiencing some level of drought. Fortunately, no drought area was classified as exceptional. Mobile and Baldwin counties not in a drought.

At this time last year, 85 percent of the state was rated in an extreme drought.
