AAA: Regular gas continues to fall

BIRMINGHAM – Alabama drivers are paying less for a gallon of regular unleaded.

According to AAA Alabama’s statewide survey, the average price for regular gas dipped more than a penny on Monday to $3.77 a gallon.

That’s 20 cents less than a month ago and a drop of just under a dollar from a year ago.

Nationally, the average price for regular is $3.87.

The Birmingham-based auto club said the average statewide price for midgrade is $3.94 while premium costs $4.05 a gallon. Diesel averaged $4.57 a gallon.

A look at the metro prices finds Birmingham has highest city average for regular at $3.82. The cheapest was $3.70 a gallon in Montgomery.
