Water Authority hosting blood drive

The miracle of blood donation is an example of what can happen when a small group comes together under a single goal. While blood donors make up less than 10 percent of the population, they save millions of lives each year.

LifeSouth encourages you to be part of that lifesaving effort when they team up with Chilton Water Authority to host a blood drive on Friday, Aug. 15. Look for the bloodmobile in the parking lot of 19246 Highway 31 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

All donors will receive a recognition item and a complimentary cholesterol screening. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more, and show photo identification at the time of donation. For more information about becoming a donor, call LifeSouth at 888-795-2707 or visit www.lifesouth.org.
