James Walter “Jay” Morris, 62, of Clanton died Wednesday, July 30, at his residence in Clanton.
He was born on Saturday, Aug. 11, 1945 in Chilton County, son of the late George David Morris and the late Minnie Lee Burnett Morris.
He was a Inspector for ABEX (Railroad).
Surviving are his wife, Lynn Morris; daughter, Leah Avery; grandchildren, Tanna and Taylor Hudson; daughter, Ashley (Dean) Cost; grandchild, James Dean Cost; four brothers, David (JoAnn) Morris, Joe (Dianne) Morris, Gary (Kathy) Morris, Michael (Quinell) Morris; sister, Glenda Morris; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; A special friend, Hunter Eason.
Friends were received from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 31, at Martin Chapel.
Services will be held today, Friday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Pastor Derrel Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Old Mt. Zion Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
