Here’s something you don’t want to miss: the Chilton Research and Extension Center’s 2008 Farm, Home and Wildlife Expo.

This year’s edition of the big-and free-event is set for tomorrow from noon until 5 p.m., and you won’t believe what all you can learn, observe and do in those five hours.

Discover how to grow everything from blackberries and kiwifruit to meat goats and caged fish. Stop by cooking demonstrations, and taste all manner of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Get tips on how to have the best-looking lawn in the neighborhood, how to control and capture wildlife, how to fire a shotgun and more. Tour the demonstration flower garden and then, if you’d like, the entire CREC farm.

There’ll be lots of children’s activities and live music, and, as the Expo is winding down, a free supper.

wildlife control, rabbit production, blackberry production, and milk goat demonstrations: 12:40 p.m., 2:20 p.m., 4 p.m.

farm tour, lawn grass, GPS and precision agriculture, blueberry production, and vine crop demonstrations: 1 p.m., 2:40 p.m., 4:20 p.m.

hoophouse and herbs, bird and drug dog demonstrations: 1:20 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:40 p.m.

fish cooking demonstration: 1 p.m., 3 p.m.

weather training demonstration: 2 p.m., 4 p.m.

skeet shooting sessions: 12:15, 12:45, 1:15, 1:45, 2:15, 2:45, 3:15, 3:45 and 4:15 p.m.
