The 2008 Miss Chilton County pageants are set to take place this weekend, and the girls have spent a lot of time preparing for their debut on stage.

This year, the girls have practiced every night for at least one hour and are doing their best to make sure every step is in the right direction. Miss Chilton County Pageant Coordinator Barry Rowe and his assistant Holly Deavers have spent weeks getting all the details in line for the pageant, including this year’s surprise days for the girls. Unlike years before, each Miss Chilton County group received a night of fun where they could relax a little and get to know each other.

“We tried to plan a few fun events to mix into the girls’ practice so they didn’t have just a solid week of no fun and all work,” Rowe said.

The pageants will be taking place in the Chilton County High School auditorium this year on Friday and Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. On Friday night, the Little and Junior Miss contestants will find their way to the stage, while the Young and Miss contestants will parade onto the stage on Saturday.
