Congressman Spencer Bachus will pay a visit to Chilton County on Tuesday, Aug. 5 to deliver a Washington update.

The event coincides with the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon, which will begin at noon in the Helen E. Parrish Activity Building of Clanton First United Methodist Church.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and the cost of lunch is $7 per person.

“He’s really looking forward to it,” Tim Johnson, Bachus’ press secretary, said in a phone interview. “Congressman Bachus will include the latest information in his legislative update.”

Chamber Executive Director Pennie Broussard said Bachus will speak for about 15 minutes, after which there will be time for questions from the public.

“There’s a lot going on right now, and he’s the man who represents us in Washington, and we can ask him questions,” she said. “His schedule fit with us, so we thought it would be a good time for him to come down.”

Bachus will be joined by his support staff. The event will last approximately one hour so that people may easily fit it into their lunch hour.
