Parker announces bid for Clanton Council

Juanita B. Parker has qualified for Ward 4 on Clanton City Council.

Parker is a Chilton County native. She was raised in Clanton and Birmingham, and attended public schools in Chilton and Jefferson County.

Parker was employed with Thorsby Associates for 7 years, but is presently the owner and director of Peter Pan Day Care Center and Kindergarten.

She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church for 29 years where she was the youth director for 19 years. She is currently a member of New Convert Baptist Church.

Parker is an advocate for special needs children, an active member of the political structure of Clanton and serves on several boards for Chilton County. Parker is also a member of FOCAL of Montgomery, an organization engaging in a campaign to lift up the voices and needs of working families in Alabama and the Southeast.

Parker was married to Joseph Parker and has 3 sons: Victor, Ronnie and Brandon Parker.

Her hobbies include attending family gatherings, planting flowers and vegetables, gardening, cooking and sewing.

This is Parker’s first run for city council.

She said she wants to serve and work with the citizens of Clanton to make it a rural paradise for everyone.

Parker says, “I want to be a voice for all people, make our neighborhoods safer and beautify our communities.”
