A Verbena man who was arrested June 6 for two burglaries in Clanton has now possibly been linked with additional burglaries and thefts.

Currently, Tommy Dewayne Knight is facing two counts of third degree burglary, one count of second degree theft of property and one count of second degree receiving stolen property. Investigator Michael Poe indicated that additional charges would be filed against Knight in the future.

Sheriff Department investigators arrested the suspect on June 6 after serving search and arrest warrants at Knight’s residence on County Road 494 in Verbena after obtaining information that linked Knight with the burglary of two residences while the victims were attending morning church services.

Later, investigators also uncovered additional information that Knight had performed home renovation work on at least one of the residences that he has been charged with burglarizing.

At the time of the arrest, the suspect was out on bond for arson, theft and burglary charges.

Knight is now in the Chilton County Jail.
