Team Strike Zone has hired two new softball hitting and fielding instructors: Robert McManus for softball and P.J. Gallardo for baseball.

McManus coached seven years of softball, played seven years of men’s competitive slowpitch and has six years of instructional

experience.

“As an instructor, my goal is to push the kids who want to excel for themselves,” McManus said. “It isn’t about what I want for them or what their parents want for them; it is ultimately their decision in what they get out of softball and what they take with them once they leave the center.

Gallardo coached eight years of league softball and has nine years of instructional experience.

“First and foremost, my main priority is to teach the girls to hit with a purpose and, secondly, never be satisfied with mediocrity at the plate.

Since its opening on May 10, Team Strike Zone has given 227 private and team lessons.

The center is open from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
