We’ll see you online
If you have ever submitted an announcement for publication in our newspaper, then you have probably visited our office in person.
We will always welcome our customers here because, in many cases, face-to-face is the best way to do business.
But as you already know, the Internet has become an immensely popular medium for transferring information. In the process, it can save you a lot of time, money, paper and postage (don’t forget gas!).
Our Web site, www.clantonadvertiser.com, soon will offer a wide array of options for our customers who wish to submit various news items to our News Department.
Every day we receive items for our Community Calendar, Church News, and Letters to the Editor. Very soon, our customers will be able to register with the Web site and submit all of these items and more online.
There will even be a way to submit pictures as well as text for wedding announcements, engagements and birthdays.
In short, the site will be much more user-friendly.
One aspect of the site I am excited about is the “quick search” option you will find near the top of the home page. While our current site has searchable archives, it requires users to click at least twice before arriving at the search page.
As you can probably imagine, we get several calls from people asking how to find stories, obituaries and other content on our site.
Hopefully, the new site will eliminate the need for such questions, although we will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.
This column has only given you a glimpse of what the new site will be like.
