The Chilton County Drug and Violent Crimes task force recently executed two search warrants netting six arrests for drug and alcohol crimes.

The first was around midnight on June 20 on Hayes Street in Thorsby. The task force, the Sheriff’s Special Operations Unit and the Thorsby Police searched the residence and arrested three.

Bobby J. Davis was charged with unlawful distribution of controlled substance, unlawful possession of controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

David Dewayne Hayes was arrested for unlawful distribution of controlled substance, unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sharlonda Vick was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Agents confiscated a quantity of marijuana and cocaine from the residence.

“We are glad the task force shut down this operation,” said Thorsby Police Chief Ed Prady. “We appreciate the job they did.”

The second was on June 21 on Highway 22 in Maplesville at the C&V Social and Savings Club.

Officers from the task force, the Special Operations Unit and the Maplesville Police Department executed a drug warrant at the club after agents had purchased marijuana from people in the club.

Upon searching the building, law enforcement seized a quantity of marijuana and cocaine, a firearm and a large quantity of alcoholic beverages that agents believe was being kept for sale.

Harold Morrow was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substance. Vivian Diane Bell was also arrested for distribution of controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol for sale without a license.

Curits Sumpert Jr. has been charged with first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, ex-felon in possession of a firearm and possession of alcohol for sale without a license.

“I would like to thank the task force and the special operations unit for their assistance in arresting these people and shutting down this illegal operation,” Maplesville Police Chief Todd Ingram said.
