I'm not saying that animals are human or anything but God made them and mankind is expected to care for them, not abuse them. Those of us who have pets that we love and care for could not imagine how someone could abuse a defenseless animal. Dog fighting is a cancer on society that should be stopped and those people caught supporting such activities should be made an example of like Michael Vick.

I'd guess that Barack Hussein Obama II in some way will be pushing his liberal, socialist agenda. I'm afraid this country is headed downhill like a snowball. Maybe the voters will make a change the next time we vote for president.

I just have a feeling that one day (or night) these good for nothing crooks are going to confront the wrong person and will be hauled away by the coroner. After about a half-dozen leave the scene of the robbery in a body bag, the robberies hopefully will be reduced or eliminated. Yes, these guys will confront a mean ole redneck that has worked hard for what he has and he'll come out with a Clint Eastwood type pistol and fill them full of holes.

A few years ago I bought into the practice of buying gallons of drinking water. I usually would buy 8 or 10 gallons when I went to the store. Not anymore. It was just too much work transporting that much weight and finding a place to store it. In November of 2003 I purchased a "PUR" water pitcher with a three stage replaceable filter and a spigot to get the water out of it. This makes the tap water taste much better and it's much cheaper than buying all that bottled water. It's kept in the "fridge" so the water is cold. I still buy a little bottled water to take to work and such for convenience but not much. Just my .02 worth.

Don't think the streets of downtown Clanton have seen much new asphalt lately. Some of the streets in Clanton remind me of riding the train at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Bumpy, Rough and Herky Jerky. It's best not to have a hot cup 'o joe in the cupholder driving through Clanton, it might just end up in your lap.

Boy, this forum or comments section really gets ridiculous at times. Some comments are just completely insane like Rickey's comment on this story. By the way Rickey, the correct saying is "I couldn't care less" not I could care less. If you could care less, that means you still care. Funny how a couple of letters make so much difference, isn't it? Let me also say that there are many denominations-Baptist, Methodist, Church Of God and on and on. Each one has somewhat different beliefs but I think each one will agree that there is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter what kind of building one worships in or if it's fancy or just a shack of a building. The church is "the people" not the building and Christ is in our hearts, not sitting pearched on top of the church building. The bottom line is we should feel good that this group of worshipers have a new building to worship in and we should pray for those that burned the building. Maybe those who burned the building will realize their hopeless situation and make a turn before they burn.

Wouldn't a bag of money off an armored car have a dye bag inside to explode if the bag was opened by someone other than the bank it was going to? Just a thought. If I knew of an elderly person that had that much money, I would highly recommend they put it in the bank. Of course, some people are so stubborn they think they know exactly how to handle every situation and they won't listen to anyone. I'm not saying that this person was like that but we all know people who won't take any advice from anyone.

I really hope these crooks are not from Chilton County. What a great example of a couple of deadbeats. I sure hope these thieves are caught and justice is served. They need to be put in prison for several years. This makes me want to bite nails. I work hard every day and then I see something like this. Two crooks who are too lazy to work for an honest living scamming this poor soul out of her money. If you have an elderly family member, try to explain to them that anyone who asks for money upfront along with a promise to give you a large sum of cash in return, this is someone you need to run from. It's hard to believe anyone would be so trusting of strangers to give them a pot full of money but as we see it does happen.
