here's a thought:
If a car is headed in a certain direction, especially on a straight road, why not just radio another police car to come in from another direction? With all of the posts regarding Chilton County Roads, it would seem the beat up roads would do in the fleeing car before the police would.

donnyo, No, I'm not an idiot, and I agree 100% with Tommy's posts. Bettering yourself is not what is at issue....it's the 2nd and 3rd and sometimes 4th chances that I'm totally fed up with. I've made more mistakes than I care to admit, but like what Tommy said, I NEVER expected ANYONE to bail me out of any of them.
Donnyo, you have totally mis-read my feelings. I have no hatred in my heart at all, just a sadness for stupidity.
And as for the last word you used against Tommy, tell me now, just how Christian is YOUR heart?? Can't imagine what your degress are in.....remedial education??????

Regina,
Regarding your earlier statement: who actually does not not have a "true chance" in school? There are so many issues school kids create themselves and then expect the adult world to cater to their needs. EVERYONE has a true chance in school...just look at the special education programs, school lunches, after school activities. Opportunity is there = the kids just need to utilize it.
If someone drops out for lack of interest, pregnancy, drug abuse, please explain how this is NOT being given a true chance is school...just who is (was) responsible for these actions?
Travlr: as far as I can see, vocational training to learn something is not the same as getting a basic education that was offered from age 5-17 (or18).

Regina,
No one is judging anyone, and getting a GED is good, but my issue is "free GED" when a FREE education has already been provided. I, for one, am just tired of my tax dollars paying for "second chances" when the "first opportunity" was not utilized.

Wow, FREE GED classes...don't these people realize that when they were of school age, education was FREE then, too and the opportunity was blown off....reasons (excuses) really don't matter as to why someone left school
All in all, someone is paying for this program

up here, we have "DOUBLE FINE" areas. If you're caught doing anything wrong, the fine is automatically doubled. This applies mostly to road repair/construction areas. I can see that it probably would not work down there as it also appears the roads are NOT being repaired. All in all, I guess my point is moot!
I'm not sure if fines actually work as you see where fines are given, but how many are actually paid???
One way to increase some funds....cut the benefits of the prisoners in the county jail system....posts from long ago indicate the extremely high amounts for medical care!!!!

wow,I'm late on this one and my first thought at the picture is what almost everyone is commenting on!!! Goof Grief - this meal looks nauseating!
Does the school system operate their own kitchen or through a food service company?

Tommy,
To this day, Jimmy still tells me stories about your dad...he remembers your Aunts teasing about:" John's going to town, John's going to town"!!!!!
I only met Uncle John a few times and he had such a quiet disposition and always a smile on his face.

ok, up here in Jersey we have a lottery and legalized gambling. Due to the economy, the casino industry has laid-off literally thousands of workers. When the lottery started, it was to be for education..can't say that happened as property taxes are used to fund the schools and Jersey has the highest in the nation.
The State of NJ skims 8% of the daily take from the casinos to fund various programs...yup WELFARE programs!Guess what?? Jersey was left wil a few billion dollar budget shortfall from Jon Corzine ( 1 term governor).
On paper, legalized gambling always sounds good, what needs to be done is to have politicians with a strong backbone to stand up to the different agencies that want a piece of the action.
I live in the county where the Jersey casinos are located...let's see, from when they opened to current, my property taxes have gone from $900 per year to close to $3,700!
Sad to say, Jersey does not audit just where the funds are going.
Alabama, be careful what you wish for. Go with it - ONLY if your State Capitol is honest and transparent with the money they get
