Those who throw their trash out on the roadside because they are too lazy to find a trash can are litterers. Teenaged kids who roll yards are kids having fun. You are correct in the FACT that both acts are illegal. Your opinion that these teenagers should be punished to the fullest extent of the law is just that - YOUR opinion. Ponder this: It is illegal for a few teenagers to get a thrill by "decorating" someone's yard with toilet paper (usually someone they know, who is not nearly as upset about their own yard being "vandalized" as you seem to be upset about their yard being "vandalized") and yet is is legal for a woman to kill an unborn baby. Find something a little more worthy of your righteous indignation.

Well, first, November, in reference to an opinion....valid is a relevant word but correct is not because opinions are subjective. It just seemed to me that you were getting all bent out of shape over this. I was concerned that you might blow a gasket.
Now, I think we may have finally gotten to the heart of the issue in your last comments.....I don't believe anyone has mentioned anything about having their yard rolled making them feel "with it" or "part of the in crowd". Is the heart of your resentment towards the toilet paper terrorists (good one, kw) based upon the fact that your yard (and therefore you) has not been seen as fit to attack except for the one failed attempt? Maybe you are feeling a bit left out......
By the way.....what method did you use to defend your domain from the "fine young men" that leads you to believe that it ended their night of "terror"? Surely it wasn't something that was illegal???

Seriously, November, try not to have a stroke over it.............didn't you EVER do anything as a teenager that remotely resembled fun? Soap a few windows, maybe?

Miscreants...!!!???? LOL !!!! miscreants....lololol...sorry...I just pictured ...Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge hanging out the window in his nightcap shaking his fist and screaming, "get off my lawn, you miscreants".....can't stop lol...Seriously, though....I agree with Graves...lighten up a little.....moonlit, toilet paper draped trees dancing in the breeze on a crisp October evening brings back memories of good, clean fun....something today's teenagers could use a lot more of, in my humble opinion.

Yes, November, the walkers are in the street part of the time. They are on the sidewalk most of the time but our fair city does not have sidewalks everywhere. Again, this is a well organized event...with so many people walking AND a police escort front and back, you would think drivers could take a hint, pay more attention and be a little more patient. I suppose they could walk in the park...I am not part of the planning committee, so maybe you could contact them and suggest that, but I am thinking that, since the main purpose of the walk is to raise awareness and money, high visibility is key.
For me, the main issue here is the the obvious inattentiveness or just plain disregard for others that was shown by this driver. I am sorry that anyone was hurt, but think about this....the person that was hit was struck by the driver's side mirror...they were struck in the arm....if this had been a child it would have been their head.....I thank God this wasn't worse than it was.

The walkers that got hit were in the outside lane in a section where there are no sidewalks. However, that should not be an issue when there are so many people walking in an obviously organized event that is escorted by police cars. The vehicle that struck the two walkers moved from the inside lane to the outside lane, where the walkers were. Wonder why there was no story about this incident in the CA? Does anyone have anymore information? I wonder if the guy was even charged with anything? I heard (from someone who was there) that he did not even receive a citation.

Yes, a little more info about the business (location and phone number, along with the cost of classes) would be nice.

Ok, so do the folks who work in Jefferson County but live in another county and still have to pay the Jefferson county occupational tax ( to bail out the screw ups of people they didn't elect) now get to vote in the county elections? If not, doesn't that amount to taxation without representation? If so, I bet the current commission would change in the next election! I wonder what percentage of Jefferson County workers are not Jefferson County residents??? Sounds like a name-making case for an attorney who has the guts to take it on.

Parking lot surveillance cameras!? Are you kidding! The Clanton Taco Bell barely keeps enough employees to keep operating! I have been there at LUNCH TIME and they would have the doors locked and only the drive through open because they don't have enough employees to run both. I once sat in the drive through waiting for several moments before tapping my horn to get attention, only to be rudely snapped at and told that the drive through was closed and I would have to come in to order. I have been standing in line inside and watched the cashier leave and go to the bathroom without so much as a word to ANYONE! The owners of this establishment DON'T CARE about their customers, their employees, their service....why would they spend money on surveillance cameras? If I want Taco Bell, I drive to Calera to get it.

How often does the grand jury convene? How long was this person incarcerated waiting on the grand jury? Are there any other "suspects" or "identified persons of interest" ? A little more information would have been nice. This article was quite vague.
