I haven't called you uneducated. I merely picked on PraAHe in an agitating manner. He put down your school. Then, like a bunch of yard biddies, ya'll got in a tizzy. I merely pointed out how absurd your comments are on how funding is distributed. VHS_Will_Rise..., I have been many places I wasn't wanted. Noriega's headquarters at Ft. Amador in Panama. The Aguan Valley in Honduras, A really dark and seedy bar in Columbus Ms, where a man murdered his girlfriend in the next room. We were the only TWO white guys there, and DEFINITELY UNWANTED. I have raided crack houses, usually the FIRST man through the door. DEFINITELY UNWANTED. So you saying I'm not wanted here is a REALLY FUNNY JOKE!!! If I weren't stirring your pot, you would be speechless on this topic. If my pot stirring has inspired you to DO something besides complain, then you have inherently stepped into a realm of a doer, which seems to be more than you were 48 hours ago. Just my opinion, if you are telling me to be silent, and say that I have no voice, (even if you disagree), then we as American Veterans served fruitlessly because you obviously want to be in a communist state where only the popular voice is dictated for you. Guess that is how you live your life, following the thoughts of others that manipulate your thinking. Just like ms_lacey. She ran with an erroneous comment because someone else was thinking for her. But, you are definitely entertaining. By the way, it's not a computer per se'. It's my cell phone, and making a quick comment while waiting on my apprentice to deliver material to rewire two streetlights, is quick, easy, and helps pass the down time. Now, I have to get these two lights burning so drunk tourists can see how to get out of MCarran Airport's ramp maze. But, I will check in at next break. Ya'll are too funny today! LOL! Like shooting crazy field rats in a tin can.

No harm, no foul. Besides it is still Turkey Month. I hesitate to lump you in with the many kw haters that give a cursory glance at my comments, then fly off the handle. Some log on just to jump on. That's why I'm here! We, several of us, get a kick out of making controversial comments, (bait), then watch the thought process roll. The teens are the easiest to predict. But occasionally there is the honest flub like 31 lbs and turkey mouth. LOL!

I wouldn't say ignorant. Just unable to read. LOL! Re-read my comment, (with the bifocals this time). It says 3 lbs. lbs is the abbreviation for pounds. LOL! Just having fun with your reading error.

Remember the comment last week, "Chilton county is considered safe"? This is the second meth story in a week. Ironically, it's within a relatively short distance of the event earlier this week. But, hey they sold him the dope, chased him, wrecked a city car, AND arrested him. I'd say that's a pretty successful/safe event. Now, if we can just solve which school gets the most funding, the world would stand hand in hand in meadows of golden rods, singing, "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...." You know, like the old Coca Cola commercial from....1974.

EXACTLY! Now you're catching on. Again, good luck. You seem to be going against the grain, (pardon the unintentional pun with regards to wooden floors), with a group of folks who want to complain until they get their way/handout. At least you are doing SOMETHING. As you know life is never fair, and this is another one of those lessons/experiences. This too shall pass.

Oh, this should be fun and interesting.

How so Lee? You've intrigued me with that seemingly simple comment. Please expound.

I agree about the not knowing part. But, frankly, if I were buying a house, it would be G.I.'d from top to bottom, thoroughly, before I placed any article in it. But, I built mine, the next one will be a retirement house in either St. Marteen, or Portabello Panama. The third, and last one, will be built for me by my heavenly father and it won't be contaminated!
Now, I worked with a kid who bought a used pickup truck from a USED dealership on the north end of the county. He was working on it during our lunch break one day. I was sitting on a 5 gallon bucket, eating a sandwich, watching him. This was in 1999. He asked me to look at a metal box under the driver's seat. This kid was, and I DO NOT mean this in a condecending manner, a little slow. I finished my sandwich and helped him take the seat out. The box was welded in place. We had to raise the truck and remove Tek-screws to gain access to the bottom of this box. Inside was a brick, approximately 3lbs, of marijuana. We worked for a small plant that had a burn pit for lumber refuse. He had no clue what it was. I told him this was NOT good. Being at work, in another county, with 3lbs of dope. I walked to the burn pit, that was in full force. Tossed it in the fire and went back to work. The wind blew the smoke right into the plant. Several folks commented. The Safety girl wanted to drug test someone, and strangely, the vending machine in the break room was emptied quickly. LOL!
Just shows you, buying a used car can be hazardous too.

ms_lacey, for the record, mine is NOT a pity story. I have NEVER even had handcuffs on me. And dang sure NEVER been in jail, other than to book others into jail. That is a FACT and PUBLIC RECORD! See how easily you were led astray. You assume a lot. Which shows the IMMATURE teenage thought process.
If you kids are going to whine about moving cinder blocks, then you have a long, long, disappointing life ahead of you.
With that said, I agree the floor needs fixing, (without seeing it). And as I stated before, just like the, (WE), alumni association, donates money at Auburn to keep Jordan-Hare Stadium, (Pat Dye Field), in pristine condition, you, too, can help with VHS' gymnasium. If you want something bad enough, then you get off your duff and work hard to achieve your goal.
CCHS has a nice stadium because of fundraisers, volunteers, and donations. Your argument of, "CCHS gets favoritism because they are special and VHS gets treated like stepchildren" is just plain juvenile at best. Last week Jemison was making the same argument. Now, who deserves a better/upgraded/new/rebuilt/whatever gym, Jemison or Verbena?
As was stated earlier, Clanton's middle school's gym was built as classrooms. Those classrooms were built for future growth. Well, it's time to use the classroom space. Thus leaving them without a gym. Are you now saying you are more important than those kids? If so, you are being REALLY hypocriticle. If you are too dense to see that, then maybe you should stick to PB&J sandwiches and coloring books without lines.
When I was in high school, we weren't allowed to walk on the gym floor with shoes that "might" leave marks. No food or drinks were allowed near the gymnasium floor. We took pride in the gym. We took care of it. Same with the football field. We made doors and shelves during AG class for the press boxes. We planted shrubs in the endzone. We, the students did that. It helped our school, we got classroom instruction, and class credit for working and taking care of our school. I guess times have changed. Kids, now, want things done FOR them. At least that is what I am hearing from the kids...er...commenter here. As my grandmother, "Granny Warr" used to say, "An education is great and nobody can take it away from you! But hard WORK is even more important." After college, I realized what she was really saying. There is no reward like finishing a job, tired back, dirty boots, sometimes bloody hands, and sweat/salt rings on your clothes. Take a hot shower, kick back in the recliner, and KNOW you accomplished your goals for the day without a handout or whining about what you had to do.
If you are serious about this issue, then DO something about it besides whine on a web site. Good luck with your endeavors, pray about your situation, trust God's answers, even if it's NOT what you asked for, and WORK to resolve your situation.

Alive, I was merely speculating on meth. That seems to be the predominant drug in our area. That and the wording in the article, which could have been erroneous. As a former Narcotics Agent, and worked hundreds of cases, if it would have been pot, the charges would be worded differently. This was a case known as a "reverse" which involves certain criteria to be achieved by the UC officer, to avoid a case of entrapment. Now, if it were a few pills, a 31 year old doesn't "NORMALLY" attempt to flee. If it were pot, ditto. Meth and crack users do run. Same with powder coke buyers. And it could have been any or all of the above. But generally those are the typical reactions. If it were enough weight, then trafficking would have been stated. Again, reporters rarely know the difference or get it right.
For those complaining about "informants", they are a necessary evil. They operate by a variation of three motives. Money, revenge, or a desire to be in a position of levity as it relates to their own case. Usually the latter. It's very hard for an undercover to just walk into a drug culture without the introduction by an informant. And the "cops", (I hate that word), cannot, just barge into a house on the "word" of the average Joe. Because that situation rears jealous spouses, ticked off business partners, and unhappy kids that may have many motives. Thus putting law enforcement in a bad possibly criminal situation themselves. It's a game of cat and mouse. It's an irritating, losing battle. But it generates Trillions of dollars for the American economy. From insurance, to clothing, to cars, houses, lawyers, jailers, secretaries, etc... It is what it is.
