tellmeitanitso, So what you are saying Chilton County should spend the taxpayers money and finance you and your friends camping facilities. Like I said and I still say it will be a "MONEY PIT". It will take more and more tax money to keep it cleaned, pay the electric bills, keep the trash picked up and carried off and the septic tanks maintained. It will probably take many times more the money taken in to keep the camp sites operating. Why should I expect any different.....we are living in a socialist country...all these expenses are expected of the working tax payers. Commissioners you don't spend money you do not have. You say twice a month in the meetings the County is "BROKE", "BROKE" and "BROKE"..is the County BROKE or NOT?

$85,000.00 “This is the only thing Chilton County has right now that will make money,” said commissioner Heedy Hayes. “When you get this thing filled up, it will stay filled up.” Mr. Hayes if it stays filled up year round our grandchildrens..grandchildren will be dead and gone before $85,000.00 profit is made on 17 camp sites. DO THE MATH. How are you making money? Like I said all the shopping is going to be done outside the County....Not Chilton County. The average camp site runs about $20 dollars a day. That covers lights, water and sewage. Where is the "making money"? It will be nothing but a money pit. No wonder our County is in the shape it is in..Broke!!!...Look who's doing the math.

Just want to say thanks to the Clanton Police Department, Sheriffs Department and Jemison Police Department. Thanks for all that you do to make this a better County to live in. People, try living in Birmingham or Montgomery and you will be thankful for the County we live in. Again THANK YOU!!

Great picture Justin!!! Let's the people of Chilton County see how their tax money is being wasted. Look at the picture...I bet that tar and gravel is at least one half inch thick...Sorry maybe one inch thick. Great paving job. The picture tells the whole story...Great paving and engineering job...LOL.. Go check this one out County Commissioners if you can or have time on the way to the bank to cash your check you get for doing NOTHING. Some of you may make it to one of the two Commissioners meeting you have each month, but do you really know what is going on with County business when you get to the meeting?

What a fine job our County is doing with the County money. County Rd 61 has just been paved by the County this past summer. One of those quick tar and gravel jobs where there is very little traffic miles out of the City Limits, but dirt roads that connect to the City limits with several houses and is the connection road to several Churches are still dirt. Explain this one County Commissioners!! Hey where did the "Points System" that the County Commissioners voted in to be used for the order in which roads were to be paved go to? It has never been voted out! Must still be on the GOOD OLD BOY SYSTEM. Hey County Engineer Tony Wearren did you engineer this one too? Didn't you know before you paved this road it was in a flood zone area of the County. I beleive everyone else that has lived in this county for several years knew it was in a flood zone area. Something you may want to take into consideration the next time you engineer (and Waste the County's Tax Money) on a road to be paved. LOL..... Tax dollars well spent...HA!!...LOL...again.

The picture shown is not a flooded road. If you want to see a flooded road go see County Rd 455. It has three feet plus of water running over it for about 200 plus feet and all it needs is about 1 to 2 inches of rain for this to happen. County Rd 455 is the first road in the county to flood when it rains. Everyone may remember about one to one and a half years ago I wrote about County Rd 455 and it's wooden bridge getting repaired with some new sticks on top of it, when there were concrete bridges being torn out and replaced with new concrete bridges with the grant money the county got to replace bridges in the county. I will not say any names, but the company that got the bids on the bridges had ties to the County Commission. The bridges replaced were bridges that were easy to get to, easy to replace, get the most money out of and get out. Again No Names Mentioned.
There have been many engineers pass through Chilton County in the past 100 years, but there has yet been one that has the knowledge or educated enough to design a bridge and road to handle the water on County Rd 455. This road has flooded for the past 80 years I know. I had high hopes in Mr. Tony Warren, but looks like it is a problem to big for him to handle also. Maybe when that section of the county gets annexed into the city limits the City of Clanton will find someone that has the knowledge to handle the problem. I'm not getting my hopes up on this either, because they have not been able to stop the problem of Raw Sewage being dumped into Walnut Creek out of the Water Treatment Plant for the past 20 plus years either. Smells like an open septic tank on the Old Wooden Bridge on County Rd 455 most of the time. I could write a book about this, but I will stop for now. Maybe one day we will get an educated engineer. Some County Commissioners that can handle their own finances, so they can take care of the County's a little better. Oh, so sorry that is another chapter in the book. LOL...

Powerlineman if you are talking about Shelby Co. They had a plan and they are still planning. They are not on the "Good Ole Boy" network like we are in this small County.
