It's my understanding that they will still continue the stocking and merchandising responsibilities at WalMart. So, that cuts out, what? One cashier?

and D., It's the Clanton Advertiser, not the Shelby County Reporter. It's just as Travlr said, other news. Doesn't have anything to do with the goings on in our county.

What exactly is not being published that makes you feel left out? I unserstand you have a Montevallo address and live in Chilton County, but do you not have most of your dealings in Jemison? If so..."they" cover Jemison very well.

What do you want "them" to say? If memory serves me, Providence Church burning and the vehicle running through Providence church were all front page stories.

Okay, here you go...
Today's headline:
Another mobile home subdivision has been established just off Highway 155 in Montevallo.

Just to be clear, most of the "news" takes place inside the municipalities. That's where "we" and "they" do business, and there are also government authorities and industries. Unincorporated areas just aren't that booming...you don't see me upset that Scott Mims doesn't come see me out here at Gap of the Mountain very often.

One last thing, if you have something you believe to be news worthy, take a picture and send it in. They publish motorcross winners and people killing deer and storm damage everyday.

Graves...
Chalk another one up. I will meet your challenge. We all too often (I include myself) spend every penny we have just trying to make ends meet. I, like many others, often have to decide which bill to pay this week, and which to put off. I am fortunate, however. I have a steady job, a loving family, a roof over my head, and never miss a meal. There is ALWAYS more that we can do for others.

Why should waiting on the JIS contractor to complete the punch list put a halt to further growth? They approved a motion to take bids on the addition. They shouldn't sit around and wait until after the ribbon cutting to start thinking about future projects.

I'm glad my husband's boss doesn't wait to finish one project before he starts bidding the next job. That would mean a lot of down time. Down time = no payday.

The people of Jemison are proud to have a new school. It is top of the line in craftmanship and technology. LIRM, we are opening a new school, not organizing a million kid march...you need to lay off the caffeine first thing in the morning.

The fact that Mr. Mims is a commissioner DOES have something to do with this. The fact that we are reading this article is simply because he is an elected public official. The point travlr made (too bad some didn't get it!) is that if someone not in a public position (like me) were to have had this same run-in with the Lindon police, we would not have made the front page news. I don't believe he was indicating that he should be held to a higher standard because of his position. Right is right. Wrong is wrong.

I admit. I skewed the poll this time. I voted hated it and didn't even watch it. Shame on me.

I can't speak for the rest of the county, but all Clanton schools begin the day with The Pledge of Allegiance.
