We bought a mini-van towards the end of 2008 ... but that was because I needed something with extreme comfort for sitting and that we could get my wheelchair in and out of easily, we were also thinking ahead in that I may be getting a power chair soon.

I purchased a TOYOTA. THAT'S RIGHT KW ... A TOYOTA! Read it and weep! I'm laughing all the way to the bank.

Dude! Surely you didn't buy one of those evil American-made Toyotas? Why not buy a Mexican- or Canadian-made GM product?

Got one of them, too! DOH!

Uh Oh!! Wait for it..........

DUDE, Our next one will be a Toyota or a Honda. I've been driving them for about 20 years and have been a VERY satisfied customer. They are superior in reliability!

bama, you holdin' yer breath for kw, like I am? Where he at? He's been a little "under the weather lately", like "absent" or somethin'. Reckon kw1 whacked him a few too many times with the turbo fly swatter?

Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind this poll? Sometimes these things actually relate to the news, but how does the kind of car we purchase fit in?

Posted by getbizi (anonymous) on May 13, 2009 at 5:17 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Psycho, some of their questions are irrelevant. Ex.- Do you put mustard, mayo, or both on your hot dog? I'd actually enjoy more politically-charged or socially-inspired questions.

Dude, I asked kw about a week ago where he had been. Pretty sure he's working, and he also told me the stories on here had gotten kinda uninteresting lately.

I thought surely your post above would bring him out of retirement.

Ditto on the story content and another thing I've noticed, with the new "weekend paper", there are 3 days of "no change" in the stories on-line during the weekend. This does take the wind out of yer sails a bit.

what country does your car payment support??????

Re-phrase that craneop. Not sure I'm getting your drift.

kw: Don't get the blue ones and the white ones mixed up! That could cause a serious CF.

I knew Dude was using the right bait to catch a bigun'. LOL

Good to see you kw..................

To get back to the subject, my 2000 Toyota 4-Runner has 224,500 miles and runs better now than when I bought it, 210,000 miles ago. I've spent LESS THAN $1000 in non-maintenance repairs in almost NINE years. Before the 4-Runner, I had two Explorers and spent multi-$1000's keeping them running, especially brakes. To me, the choice is easy.

I've been out to see them a time or two, been a while though. I helped LVP with a problem over the phone a few weeks ago.

kw, just don't put a traffic light out there on the Tarmac. That would probably make you break out in hives if you did, anyway (you know, the way you despise traffic lights). Hey Nov.! Heard you've been basking in the sun, sippin' cool ones, and enjoyin' the sights near the equator. How was the food?

Posted by November162000 (anonymous) on May 15, 2009 at 8:08 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Hey Dude. It was an interesting trip and the food was OK. I've had about all the fried plantains that I want for a while. It's better than sheep brain soup, though!

Posted by TheDude (Michael Wells) on May 15, 2009 at 9:20 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Plantains look like green bananas, don't they? I don't know, man. That sounds pretty nasty and would probably upset my internal eco system. May be good though, never tried it before. Thought about makin' soup today. Think I will scratch that now ... Welcome back!

Posted by November162000 (anonymous) on May 15, 2009 at 6:40 p.m. (Suggest removal)

BIG bananas! Thanks, Dude.

KW we do not tend to agree on many things when it comes to this site, but I will tell you this here is a issue that we agree upon. I will never own automobile from another country we want to know what is wrong with our nation here it is with the people who do not support our nation but rather Japan, Korea, Germany, and China. If we bought America first on everything we would keep America strong not the Taliban and China. We will loose our place in the pecking order of the world if these UnAmericans do not change their ways.

Posted by TheDude (Michael Wells) on May 18, 2009 at 6:13 a.m. (Suggest removal)

mr, you buy foreign made items everyday, or when you spend money, and probably don't even realize it. If places like WALMART would sell AMERICAN MADE products, we most likely would buy them. So, don't degrade Americans as unAmericans just because they purchase unAmerican made products. You are ONE of them. Even though I would readily buy American made auto's, which I have, I want to get my money's worth, so there may be times, after I've done the research, that a foreign made vehicle is a better value for the money than it's American made counterpart. That's just life.

Posted by TheDude (Michael Wells) on May 18, 2009 at 11:48 a.m. (Suggest removal)

C'mon kw. That's a little "out in space". Selfishness doesn't even fit into this category. Where'd you come up with that? Putting on a uniform to defend this country doesn't have a thing to do with it, either. Like I've stated before. EVERYBODY BUYS products made overseas. You're no exception. So this is really a moot point.

Posted by TheDude (Michael Wells) on May 19, 2009 at 6:36 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I think you'd be surprised at the takers. Also, you would be surprised to see the number of vets who own unAmerican made vehicles. So, don't bite off more than you can chew.
