In the 13 years that I have lived in Clanton, I have not only been a past employee of the Chilton county Humane society but I have also adopted several pets through the years. I just wish more people would have their pets spayed or neutered to decrease the amount of unwanted pets here in chilton county. I think if everyone were given the opportunity to watch a puppy,kitten, cat or dog put to sleep they would respect this matter more!

I have adopt ,one of the best dogs I ever had. She was 5 years old and a elderly couple had to give her up, she had been there almost her limit so this was the main reason we chose her. We kept her 13 more years before she passed away. She had already been spayed, trained you couldn't ask for more. I even adopt one before there was a Humane center, there was just a fenced area at the city shop, they didn't get to stay there long. I saw a large bird dog being picked up. I followed the dog catcher to this area. I was told he would have to stay a few days to see if he was claimed. I waited one day past the few days an when I remembered I paniced. I ran down to the shop and there he was I loaded him in the car and he lived with us 8 years. Great dog! best bull frog / crawdad hunter we ever. so please give it a try. We have so many great memories with these dogs growing up with our children and even grandchildren. This story is dedicated to " Sharla and Old Yellower ".
