Another arrest in shooting

Published Friday, September 11, 2009

Clanton police have arrested a fourth man in connection with a home invasion and shooting last Wednesday.

Izembre Brown, 18, of Childersburg turned himself in to Clanton Police early Thursday morning, according to Police Chief Brian Stilwell.

Detectives spent most of Wednesday in Childersburg and Talladega County working on the case.

Brown was booked on charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit assault. His bond was set at $100,000.

Authorities now believe all suspects involved in the case have been charged.

Stilwell said he hopes his department can bring the case to a close soon.

Three other men have already been arrested and charged in the case.

An unnamed Clanton man came home from work around midnight Tuesday, Aug. 1 to find three masked men, two with guns, in the house.

After a struggle, the resident was shot in the leg.

Police believe the burglars targeted someone else who lived in the house — not the man who was shot, Stilwell said.

Several people lived in the home.

“We were able to get theses guys off the streets and hopefully provide some justice for our victim,” Stilwell said.

So sad to see these wasted young lives. Maybe someday they will see the big picture.

Parents: Do you know/care where your kids/teenagers are and with whom they are associating?

I don't see it sad as much as ironic. You can't cure stupidity. And this is a means to an end. These people eliminate themselves from society by their actions. Unfortunately YOU and I have to support them financially through taxes paid.

They will probably be out in not time if their not already. You all read about the teen from Verbena with like 21 counts against him for various charges from armed robbery to burglery 1,2 and 3 well he didnt even spend a month in jail. How's that?

Sec, there were several articles on the two kids from Verbena. Knight and Wells were the boys' names. I believe they lived near the end of CR 24 and CR 59 going toward Blue Creek. Look back a week or so in the news articles.

I went to High School with Brown. The whole time I knew him he was a good kid; football player, good grades. Just goes to prove that even though the parents raise their children right, after they turn 18, and graduate from high school (not sure if he did or dropped out) their parents cant really do much. Most people get in their head that when they are 18, they are grown. NOT always true. Like this case for example!
