Homecoming Court: Katie Kite (seated, far right) of Jemison and six other young women make up the University of West Alabama’s Homecoming Court. The queen, chosen from the upperclass nominees, will be named Oct. 28 and crowned Saturday.
Kite was one of seven young women who make up the 2009 court. She is the daughter of Pamela and Bill Kite. An athletic training major, Kite is a member of the UWA Honors Program, Sports Medicine Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and intramural sports.
As a freshman maid, Kite will serve on the homecoming queen’s court, as will sophomore maids and the other four nominees for homecoming queen, who will be named during the annual Serendipity talent show Oct. 28.
The rest of the court includes Danielle D. Boman of Frankville, Allie D. Ellis of Fultondale, Sarah E. Lenning of Livingston, Tiffany E. Perry of Tuscaloosa and Lara N. Tucker of Demopolis.
The seven ladies will ride through downtown Livingston in the Homecoming parade Saturday at 11 a.m.
Crowning of the queen and presentation of her court will take place during halftime of the UWA-Ouachita Baptist University football game at Tiger Stadium.
