Murder trial begins Monday
Published Friday, November 13, 2009
Two Clanton men are scheduled to go on trial for murder next week in the 2006 shooting death of Issac Dedarge Bulger of Clanton.
Kowosky Tywan Christian, 31, and Christopher Iman Ulmer, 33, both are charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the Dec. 19, 2006, shooting of 20-year-old Bulger, who died in the hospital the following day.
The suspects were arrested the same day of the victim’s death by Chilton County Sheriff’s Deputies and Clanton Police.
According to officials, both men were in the truck from which a person allegedly shot into a white Chevrolet Malibu and hit the victim. The shooting occurred in the West End community.
An autopsy later revealed that Bulger died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The trial is set to begin Monday with the striking of jury in the courtroom of Circuit Judge Ben Fuller. Both Christian and Ulmer will be tried unless they enter into a plea agreement.
Chilton County Circuit Court Clerk Glenn McGriff estimated that the trial would last approximately one week.

The length of the trial, in my estimation, hasn't got much to do with the fact these guys are "from West End."
Christian's got a rap sheet longer than Shaquille Oneal's left leg.
I'd be shocked if it lasts a week. Deliberation won't take 10 minutes.

I hope the jury doesnt look at the long rap sheet and think guilty. I dont believe murder was on his rap sheet. and while the young man that was killed is a relative of my family, I pray that justice be served even if takes another 2 years or so, though no amount of justice can bring him back. To his surviving parent, I say do not get discouraged by the opening of this wound, there is a higher court that will have the last verdict. It does not matter where you live, I dont think the people in Texas thought it was there last day, another senseless, cowardly act, and i'm sure someone will tell us if it takes "about a week" for that trial.

I ran track with Kowosky is high school. I think he ran the 100 and 200 meter races. I believe he was a runningback on the football team too. We never hung out or anything like that, so I really didn't know him that well. He was in my graduating class. It's terrible that this happend and that young Issac Bulger is now gone. It kind of reminds me of book; The Outsiders. The world just doesn't have room for this type of behavior whether I knew the perpetrator or not.

I know Kowosky very well and I know he does have a record, however that does not make him a murderer. He is a wonderful man that has a heart of those to the people he loves- whoever thinks he would do such a thing is just being racist and are jealous because he had everything going on at one point in his life and you people talking about him more than likely have nothing! The only thing he is guilty of is being with the wrong person at the wrong time. I know he did not do this! Regards go out to the victims family... but Wosky is not the one that did it!

If neither will tell on the other I think both should go to jail. I've had about enough of this "no talk" "don't snitch" stuff. When it comes to murder someone must speak out!

To alive : Please know the facts before you give a comment.Only God can judge Christopher and Kowosky. They are good men, and God moved for the both of them today. Never forget , God has the last say in everything.

Well they both should have thought about what they was doing. First if they can't do the time they should have never committed the crime.
They made a choice the day that they took the young man's life away from him.
We all have choices and it's up to us whether we make the right choice or the wrong choice.
Nothing will ever bring back the young man that was killed, and as with everyone if you take someone's life then you need to pay for that crime.
May God have mercy on their souls.

Trust me they both knew what they were doing, and that was to defend themselves. It's so sad how everyone failed to mention, that accused was fired at first that morning and he did not fire back at the victim. And they also failed to mention that the victim fired first later on that evening.Just want to get the facts out, not hear say.

i know kowosky too..i have known him for years. Unfortunately, I have not seen or talked to him in a long time. However, I know that he was a good and wonderful person and its hard to believe that he had changed that much to have done something like this. Always remember, there are two sides to every story. I am sure that this is not the whole story. I agree that if he done it, justice should be served. However, if he didn't he doesn't need to pay for something he didn't do. The only one who knows is the one above. I pray that God's will be done. My heart goes out to all familes involved in the twisted mess.

it actually is a $500 bond and u pay 50 dollars to make bail. I made the mistake of having my pistol in my vehicle and was pulled over for it. I did not have the intentions of harming anyone i had it for personal protection. not committing murder without a permit.
