“That was better than average for us on a Saturday,” Director Joe Murphy said. “It was fun for the community and for our staff as well.”

Several people dropped by to donate needed supplies, box fans, dog and cat food, and small cash donations. Donations were still coming in Monday, Murphy reported.

The humane society is planning future adoption drives during this holiday season.

They will also participate in an adopt-a-thon at the Prattville Pet Smart on Nov. 13-15 from 11 a.m. until about 4 p.m.

Murphy plans to make the Adopt-or-Treat an annual event.

“We’re just grateful to the community. We thank everyone for coming out and celebrating Halloween with us,” he said.

The Humane Society may be reached at 755-9170.
