Pole repair cuts power to Thorsby homes

Published Tuesday, May 19, 2009

The need to replace a broken power pole darkened more than 100 Thorsby Alabama Power customers Monday.

According to Alabama Power officials, the company planned the work slightly after noon Monday in hopes of interfering with customers as little as possible.

Some customers were notified that power would be cut to their homes a few hours before the cut was made.

Company officials said the work, which was set to last about four hours, was to replace a broken power pole.
