The front end of this Ford Ranger shows the results of it colliding with a nearby tree Tuesday morning on Alabama Highway 22 in Isabella. The driver of the vehicle was killed while the passenger was transported by helicopter to UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. The identity of the driver is being withheld until family can be notified.

One killed in morning wreck

— A one-vehicle accident on Alabama 22 in the Isabella community Tuesday morning claimed the life of Julie Ann Nance, 36, of Clanton.

Another woman was severely injured in the accident.

Officials are still investigating the accident, which reportedly saw the black Ford Ranger Nance was driving go off the road and collide with a tree.

The injured occupant was airlifted by helicopter to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. It has been reported that Nance was “killed instantly.”

She was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:27 a.m.

Responding to the accident, along with area law enforcement, was the Isabella Volunteer Fire Department and Regional Paramedic service.

Funeral services for Nance are pending.
