Jeremy Carter on Thursday was named head football coach and athletic director at Billingsley by the Autauga County Board of Education.
Carter last season was an assistant to Kevin LeSueur, who left the post to return to Prattville, where he previously served as an assistant.
“It’s a good feeling to be a head coach again,” Carter said. “I want the program to go in the right direction, where it was heading.”
Carter is a 1998 Billingsley graduate, and Billingsley last won a state championship during his senior season. The new coach said he wants to get the program back to that level.
Carter played football at UAB from 1998 to 2001, then served as an assistant coach at Autauga Academy for one year and head coach at the school for three years before returning to Billingsley last season.

Jeremy is smart, and obviously learned from the best (his Uncle James).
Coach LeSueur laid a decent foundation to build on...hopefully Jeremy can get the Bears back to elite status.
