Darryl White is a very musical guy, both in the virtual world and in real life. When he is not jamming out with Bon Jovi on "Guitar Hero," you'll find him practicing his trumpet for the Pride of Chilton County Marching Band.

White said he chose the trumpet because he likes the sound of the instrument.

"I like how it sounds. I like the music and the melody," he says.

One of the most exciting moments for White was two years ago when he got to go on the field and play alongside high school students.

When it comes to academics, the 14-year-old is a member of the National Beta Club and is a natural at math.

"I think that math is fun, and it's easy to do," he says.

White also plays outdoor sports with his friends. He enjoys baseball, basketball and especially football.

After he graduates, White said he wants to attend the University of Alabama and become a pediatrician.

"I want to help children around the world," he said. "I think they need more help."

White is the son of Rickie and Felisa Blumenberg and has two sisters, Shalisa and Rickea. He spends a lot of time with his family.

"Me and my mom watch scary movies. Me and my dad, we like to watch football," he said.
