Devils no match for Holy Spirit

TUSCALOOSA – Holy Spirit’s defense intercepted three passes and recovered two fumbles in Friday night’s Class 1A, Region 3 victory over Maplesville, 13-6.
Holy Spirit’s Chris Davis had 13 tackles and a fumble recovery. Nick Enns also had a fumble recovery.
Christopher David intercepted two passes. The second stopped Maplesville’s final drive at midfield, and the Titans were able to run out the clock. Christian Pereyda also had an interception.
Holy Spirit (7-2, 6-2) held a 3-0 lead at halftime on Eric Della Penna’s 37-yard field goal.
Braden Fowler scored for the Titans on an 18-yard run in the third quarter. Fowler completed 10 of 20 passes for 98 yards and rushed for 55 yards.
Della Penna added a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
Maplesville (6-2, 6-2) got its touchdown on a 15-yard run by Hunter McCay in the fourth quarter.
Holy Spirit winds up the regular season with a game at West Blocton on Friday.

What happened to player of the week 10-24-08? Why was this player not put in the paper? If it was an oversight by the paper then it would be nice of you to bring it on out.............even if it is late. The young man deserves recognition for a job well done. He probably doesn't care about the recognition but his MawMaw does! Thanks, I know you'll do the right thing.
