Moore crowned Birmingham-Southern homecoming king

King and queen: William Moore of Clanton and Meagan Langford of Hueytown were named Birmingham-Southern’s homecoming king and queen.

BIRMINGHAM – Meagan Langford of Hueytown and William Moore of Clanton were crowned the 2008 Birmingham-Southern College Homecoming Queen and King during halftime ceremonies of the Homecoming football game against rival foe Sewanee Nov. 8. The game was the first contest on the newly constructed Panther Stadium field on the BSC campus.

Langford, a senior music major, is the daughter of Lloyd and Rene Langford. Moore, a senior biology major, is the son of Richard and Sally Moore. The pair was selected in a campus-wide vote of the student body.

Named senior attendants during the Homecoming festivities were Alexander Cape, a music major from Mobile and the son of Wendy Cape; Kathryn Carroll, a biology major from Madison, Miss., and the daughter of David and Laura Carroll; Trey Cotney of Helena, a business major who currently serves as president of the Student Government Association, and the son of Bill and Debbie Cotney; and Kaylee Osland of Littleton, Colo., an accounting major and the daughter of Johan and Lynn Osland.

Junior attendants were Meredith Ervin of Huntsville, a dance major and the daughter of Norm and Debbie Ervin; Christina Johnson of Montgomery, a musical theatre major and the daughter of Perry and Suzanne Roquemore; Jackson Jones of Mountain Brook, a business major and the son of George and Virginia Jones; and finally Brandon McCabe of Montgomery, a musical theatre major and the son of Deanne McCabe.

Sophomore attendants were Brian Bennett of Mobile, a business major and the son of Dr. Thomas and Lydia Bennett; James David Carroll of Huntsville, a chemistry major and the son of Don and Sandra Carroll; Rachel Lewis of Tallahassee, Fla., a biology major and the daughter of Dr. Frank and Cynthia Lewis; and finally Ani Missirian-Dill of Brentwood, Tenn., an English major and the daughter of Stuart and Maral Missirian-Dill.

Freshman attendants were Barett Fleming of Rainbow City, a music performance major and the son of Lysle Fleming and Regina Walker; Kayla Gronemeyer of Muscle Shoals, an elementary/collaborative education major and the daughter of Donna Gronemeyer of Muscle Shoals and John Gronemeyer of Granbury, Texas; Kate LeCroy of Pleasant Grove, a biology major and the daughter of Scott and Debbie LeCroy; and Frank Mullens of Hoover, an undecided major and the son of Dr. Mark and Suzanne Mullens.

Congratulations to you both! It is, indeed, special when your fellow students think so highly of you. You have earned their respect and frequently respect is earned by you being respectful toward others. Both of you deserve to be King and Queen. Long Live Their Majesties.
