7-run fifth lifts Post 6

Eight consecutive Post 6 players reached base Monday with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, leading to seven runs and a 10-6 win for the hosts.
Clanton’s American Legion junior team (13-3) was trailing its Pickens counterparts (10-9) 6-1 going into the inning.
The hits in the inning belonged to Justin Veazey, Adam Minor, Cameron Teel, Tanner Powell, Chance Calloway, T.J. Henley and Hunter Eason.
Bradley Cleckler, the Post 6 pitcher of record in the fifth, benefitted from the outburst to pick up the win. Cleckler didn’t allow a hit or a walk in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out two.
Post 6 hosts Jemison for a doubleheader at 6 tonight.
