Moving from the second grade to the third can be a nervous time for Clanton students as they move to Clanton Intermediate School.

Incoming third graders were a mixture of nerves and excitement on the first day of school, Aug. 9.

“I was really scared about coming to third grade,” Paisley in Kimberly Rhodes’ class said.

She said she is looking forward to a year of “being nice to people and people being nice to me.”

Colin in Moatts’ Class said he was also a little nervous.

“I didn’t know if I would be ready for third grade,” Keirah in Moatts’ class said.  “Then, when I came here she (Mrs. Moatts) was very nice … She’s a really good third grade teacher. I like her a lot.”

Keirah said she was looking forward to making new friends. She said the class worked on their multiplication tables and had PE on the first day of school. She thinks math might be challenging this year.
