Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level. If you know of an athlete who should be included in future installments of this list, email sports@clantonadvertiser.com.

BASEBALL

J.D. Minor (Chilton County 2014) contributed one RBI as third baseman for the University of Montevallo (21-22) in an 11-7 loss at Columbus State University (28-10) on April 8 in Columbus, Ga. For the season, the sophomore has totaled 14 runs scored, nine RBIs, eight stolen bases, five doubles, one home run, one triple and has a .198 batting average. Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) allowed one hit and did not allow an earned runs in a two-inning effort at starting pitcher for NAIA No. 8 Auburn University at Montgomery (32-11) in a 2-1 victory at NAIA No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett College (42-4) on April 13 in Lawrenceville, Ga. For the season, the senior has tallied a 2-2 overall record complemented with 28.2 innings, 10 strikeouts and a 4.4 ERA in 10 appearances and six starts.

Blake Teel (Chilton County 2014) allowed four earned runs in a 2 1/3-inning performance at starting pitcher for Marion Military Institute (28-11-1) in a 10-9 triumph at home against Calhoun Community College (24-19) on April 7 in Marion. For the season, the sophomore has compiled a 1-3 overall record complemented with a 1-3 overall record complemented with 29 2/3 innings, eight strikeouts and a 5.16 ERA through eight appearances and seven starts. He adds a .500 batting average from the plate.

James Ratliff (Chilton County 2014) did not allow an earned run in a one-inning effort as a relief pitcher for Marion Military Institute against Calhoun Community College. For the season, the sophomore has registered one save complemented with seven innings, three strikeouts and a 7.1 ERA through seven appearances and one start.

 MEN’S GOLF

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2014) is a sophomore for Samford University, which resumes competition at the Southern Conference Tournament from April 24-26 in Pinehurst, N.C. In the sophomore’s most recent performance, he secured the No. 2 effort for the Bulldogs at the Vanderbilt University Mason Rudolph Championships by tying for 42nd overall with a three-round total of 224 (70-79-75) as Samford cruised to place 14th among the field of 14 teams from April 2-3 in Franklin, Tenn.

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) is a junior for NCAA Division II No. 13 University of North Alabama, which resumes competition at the Gulf South Conference Tournament from April 17-19 in Ford City. In his most recent performance, he secured the No. 1 effort for the Lions at the University of West Alabama Argonaut Invitational by clinching sixth overall with a three-round score of 215 (70-69-76) en route to leading UNA to place sixth among the field of 15 teams from April 4-5 in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

SOFTBALL

Shelby Lopez (Jemison 2012) batted 1-for-3 and scored one run at catcher for the University of Montevallo (19-32) in a 6-3 loss at home against the University of South Carolina Aiken (26-16) on April 13 in Montevallo. For the season, the senior has compiled 27 runs scored, 23 RBIs, 10 stolen bases, four home runs, four doubles, two triples and a .319 batting average.

Kristina Caton (Chilton County 2015) finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI for the Shelton State Community College softball program (32-9) in an 8-0 sweep of Marion Military Institute (2-28) on April 7 in Marion. For the season, the freshman has tallied 14 runs scored, nine RBIs, one home run, one double and a .314 batting average.

Brooke Lewis (Chilton County 2014) finished 1-for-1 and scored one run at outfield for Southern Union State Community College (19-29) in a 10-2 triumph at Central Alabama Community College (25-22) on April 7 in Alexander City. For the season, the sophomore has totaled 10 runs scored, five RBIs, one double, one stolen base and a .268 batting average.

Holly Watts (Chilton County 2014) batted 1-for-2 with two RBIs and one run scored at third base for the Southern Union State University softball program (19-29) in a 10-1 triumph at home against Marion Military Institute (2-28) on April 9 in Wadley. For the season, the sophomore has compiled 18 RBIs, five runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, one triple and a .242 batting average.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Sarah Graham (Chilton County 2015) clinched ninth in the 800-meter run (2 minutes, 34.45 seconds) and 10th in the 1,500-meter run (5:20.39) at the University of Montevallo Heart of Dixie Brawl on April 8 in Montevallo. The meet was not scored.

Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) captured the No. 1 performance in the javelin among the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) after clinching a sixth-place finish at the Auburn University Tiger Track Classic with a season-best launch of 135 feet, 10.75 inches for the Alabama State University women’s outdoor track and field program from April 8-9 in Auburn. The meet was not scored.
