Approximately 380 miles separate Clanton and Webster County, Ky. As part of its spring break, the Webster County Trojans made the long trip south and lost 13-3, 19-0 in a doubleheader against Chilton County High School on Saturday.
It was a unique matchup, and Chilton County seized the opportunity to rediscover the offensive firepower that has helped them accumulate numerous victories this season.
In Game 1 of the doubleheader, the Trojans jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
However, Chilton County answered with two runs of its own in the bottom of the inning. Dustin Cleckler drove in Cade Hatch with a sacrifice fly to center, and Corbin Bice scored on a sacrifice fly by Giquon Lane.
The Trojans took a one-run lead in the top of the third, but the Tigers countered with five runs.

Hatch, Hunter Bennett and Cleckler all doubled in runs while Lane added an RBI single to give the Tigers a 7-3 lead after two innings.
Hatch, Bennett and Cleckler also combined to drive in four more runs in the game, and two runs were gifted to the Tigers via errors.
Chilton County easily won the game 13-3 in five innings.
Bennett got the win on the mound, and Cleckler was the star at the plate as he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs.
Game 2 of the doubleheader was much of the same, as the Tigers 10-run ruled the Trojans once again thanks to 15 hits in five innings of play.
Chilton County scored four runs in the first, three in the second and 12 in the third to win by a final score of 19-0.
The Trojans were only able to muster one hit in the game.
Hatch was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a single, double, home run and four RBIs.
Cleckler joined the hit parade going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs while Bice, Lane and Keaton Sullivan had two RBIs each.
Noah McGhar got the win, pitching four strong innings and striking out two in the process. Seth Harris followed him on the mound and pitched the fifth and final inning.
With the two wins, Chilton County is 19-11 on the season.
The Tigers resume area play on Tuesday when they travel to Paul Bryant. The game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
