Robert Lee Hayes

Robert Lee Hayes, 68, of Maplesville, passed away on April 3.

He was born on April 10, 1947, in Clanton, the son of the late Clay Hayes and Marzelle Mims Hayes.

Robert grew up in the Sardis community and graduated from Isabella High School in 1965.

He served in the Navy Seabees during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from Bellsouth after 34 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Hayes, and his two daughters, Renee Lenoir (Kevin) of Maplesville and Amy Ballew (Shawn) of Maplesville; four grandchildren, Jordan Lenoir (Hope), Savannah Lenoir, Amelia Ballew and Isabella Ballew of Maplesville; brothers, Harry Hayes and Garry Hayes (Pat); sisters, Peggy Crawford and Jane Gore.

Deceased siblings are Mary Newman, Frank Hayes, Howard Hayes, Ruby Harding, Betty Robinson and Joann Ricks.

Friends will be received on April 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held April 6 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Wyatt and the Rev. David Bishop officiating.

Interment will follow at Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery in Maplesville.
