Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

BASEBALL

James Ratliff (Chilton County 2014) is a sophomore pitcher for Marion Military Institute, which improved to 24-6-1 overall after securing a 9-0 sweep at home of Southern Union State University (15-13-1) on March 25 in Marion.

In his most recent effort, Ratliff collected his first save of the season by hurling one strikeout and not allowing a hit or an earned run in a one-inning effort as a relief pitcher in a 4-1 triumph at home against the Faulkner University junior varsity on March 16 in Marion.

For the year, he has totaled 6 1/3 innings, three strikeouts and a 4.26 ERA through five appearances and one start.

J.D. Minor (Chilton County 2014) batted 1-for-3 with one RBI at third base for the University of Montevallo (18-15) in an 8-1 loss at home to Georgia College (17-12) on March 20 in Montevallo.

On March 23, the sophomore followed by ending 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI in a 13-3 victory at home against Spring Hill College (16-13).

On March 26, he finished 1-for-5 and scored one run in an 11-9 triumph at the University of South Carolina Aiken (24-6) in Aiken, S.C.

For the season, he has tallied 13 runs scored, eight RBIs, eight stolen bases, five doubles, one home run, one triple and a .227 batting average.

Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) contributed a portion of one inning as a relief pitcher for NAIA No. 5 Auburn University at Montgomery (26-8) in a 7-6 loss at Middle Georgia State University (26-10) on March 26 in Cochran, Ga.

For the year, the senior has compiled a 2-1 overall record complemented with 23.2 innings, 20 strikeouts and a 3.42 ERA through seven appearances and four starts.

Blake Teel (Chilton County 2014) posted a 6 1/3-inning effort at starting pitcher for Marion Military Institute (24-6-1) in a 6-2 loss at Southern Union State Community College (15-13-1) on March 23 in Wadley.

For the season, the sophomore has totaled a 1-2 overall record complemented with 22.1 innings, eight strikeouts and a 4.84 ERA through six appearances and five starts.

MEN’S GOLF

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2014) is a sophomore for Samford University, which clinched 16th place among the field of 19 teams at the Furman University Intercollegiate from March 25-27 in Greenville, S.C.

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) captured the No. 2 effort the NCAA Division II No. 15 University of North Alabama men’s golf program at home in the UNA Spring Classic. He finished third overall with a three-round score of 212 (73-72-67) en route to leading the Knights to a tie for the title with Lee University among the field of 15 teams from March 28-29 in Muscle Shoals.

SOFTBALL

Kristina Caton (Chilton County 2015) batted 1-for-3 as catcher for Shelton State Community College (27-6) in a 7-3 loss at Southern Union State University (13-25) in Game 1 of a doubleheader on March 22 in Wadley.

On March 26, the freshman followed by ending 1-for-2 in a 9-1 triumph at home against Calhoun Community College (17-20) on March 26 in Tuscaloosa.

For the season, she has tallied 11 runs scored, six RBIs, one home run and a .321 batting average.

Shelby Lopez (Jemison 2012) batted 1-for-3 with three RBIs, two runs scored and one home run at catcher for the University of Montevallo softball program (17-22) in a 13-1 triumph at the University of Puerto Rico Bayamon on March 27 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

On March 26, the senior ended 2-for-3 and scored two runs in a 9-2 victory at the Universidad Metropalitana in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

For the season, she has compiled 23 runs scored, 23 RBIs, 10 stolen bases, four home runs, four doubles, two triples and a .343 batting average.

Brooke Lewis (Chilton County 2014) secured an appearance at outfield for Southern Union State Community College in a 12-2 loss to Shelton State University in Game 2 of a doubleheader on March 22 in Wadley.

For the year, the sophomore has compiled six runs scored, five RBIs, one double, one stolen base and a .265 batting average.

Holly Watts (Chilton County 2014) batted 1-for-5 with one RBI at third base for Southern Union State Community College in a 10-6 triumph at Marion Military Institute (1-21) on March 19 in Marion.

On March 22, the sophomore followed it up by finishing 2-for-4 with one RBI in a 6-2 loss at home to Shelton State Community College.

For the season, she has totaled 12 runs scored, 11 RBIs, two home runs, two doubles, one triple and a .250 batting average.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Sarah Graham (Chilton County 2015) captured 18th in the 1,500-meter run at the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic with a season-best time of 5 minutes, 20.11 seconds for the University of West Alabama in a sixth-place finish among the field of 12 teams from March 25-26 in Montevallo.

Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) is paced to defend her Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title in the javelin after clinching third in the event at the University of North Florida Spring Break Invitational with a season-best launch of 127 feet, 11.5 inches for the Alabama State University women’s outdoor track and field program from March 25-26 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Among the conference, the senior is currently seeded No. 1 in the javelin following her performance.
